This 4ft by 8ft Panel was painted for "The Artery". The Artery is a Eureka Springs, Arkansas not-for-profit art appreciation program, gives new meaning to urban renewal with its creation of an open-air gallery.

When I was in the third grade, on Tuesday afternoons, I got to stand in the back of the class and paint on one of those sturdy school easels they had back them. I can still smell the poster paint.   I always wondered why I had that privilege, when the rest of the class had to work on its spelling.  Apparently, my teacher saw something in me she felt necessary to expose.  It was about this time, I knew painting was going to be a part of my life.  I also knew spelling was going to be a problem for me.

I was born and raised in Southern California…this is where I received my education and art degree.   As a child, my family would take trips to the Ozarks every summer to visit my grandparents.  Those were wonderful times.   As a result, I moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1995 and have been happy with my decision.

I like painting most subjects, but my love for animals has led me to specialize in pet portraits.  In the past few years, I find my paintings have taken on a whimsical look …. painted well, but with a sense of humor (something I just can’t help).

Over the years, I have won many awards in juried shows.  The show I honor the most was my acceptance in the LSU Animal in Arts International Exhibit in Baton Rough, Louisiana.  I was one of 75 who was accepted out of approximately 575 entries.  This took place in 2009 and 2010.
